FCC asks court to dismiss ABC's First Amendment lawsuit over TV licence renewals

The FCC has asked a federal court to throw out ABC's First Amendment lawsuit, arguing that Disney-owned ABC failed to prove the early licence renewal review of its TV stations was retaliation for disfavoured speech. ABC sued the FCC last month over the licence review. The agency denies any connection to shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live or The View.
