Australia: EV sales exceed petrol cars for the first time on record

Australia sold more than 27,000 electric vehicles in August, a new monthly record representing 24.9% of new car sales. For the first time, EV sales surpassed both petrol cars (nearly 26,000) and diesel vehicles (23,600). The surge is driven by high fuel prices and government policies encouraging clean car uptake.
