13 of India's 18 submarine cables land on one Mumbai beach, raising internet risk

At least 13 of India's 18 intercontinental submarine cables come ashore within six kilometres of Versova beach in Mumbai. Such a high concentration of critical internet infrastructure in one location poses a serious vulnerability for the country's connectivity. A failure or attack at that point could sever India's links to the global internet.
