Volkswagen to cut 100,000 jobs by 2030

Volkswagen has confirmed it will eliminate 100,000 jobs — 15% of its workforce — by 2030 in what is described as the biggest restructuring in the automotive sector's history. Management and unions agreed to cut an additional 50,000 positions on top of already planned reductions. The move is driven by US tariffs and intensifying competition from Chinese carmakers. The company will also halve its product lineup as part of the cost-cutting plan.
