How the USSR Tried to Build the Perfect Soviet Citizen

The Soviet Communist Party sought to create citizens wholly loyal to the state and Marxist-Leninist ideology. Children were taught to revere Lenin, university students were required to study communist doctrine, and factory workers were fed party propaganda. Over time, Soviet society increasingly retreated from official ideology into private life and everyday culture.
