Canada says yes to AI data centres — but sets five conditions for investors

Canadian Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation Evan Solomon said on Thursday that Canada supports building digital infrastructure, framing it as a matter of national sovereignty, but is imposing five conditions on investors who wish to build data centres. The government wants a say in how and by whom such facilities are constructed on Canadian soil.
