US Army Disbands Drone Battalion — Lawmakers Demand Explanation

The US Army has disbanded its 600-member Unmanned Assault Battalion, part of the 173rd Airborne Brigade, less than a year after it was established. The unit was tasked with learning drone warfare tactics from Ukraine's fight against Russia and applying them to the US military. A bipartisan group of lawmakers has written to the Army demanding an explanation, warning the move signals "uneven and inconsistent" Pentagon support for Europe and Ukraine.
