US automakers urge Congress to permanently ban Chinese connected vehicles

Major US automakers have urged Congress to permanently ban the domestic sale, import and manufacturing of Chinese connected vehicles, as well as Chinese automotive hardware and software. The industry cites national security risks linked to potential Chinese access to data collected by such vehicles. The appeal has been directed to both chambers of Congress.
