Russian troops infiltrate drained Kakhovka reservoir for reconnaissance

Small groups of Russian soldiers have been steadily moving through the vast, drained bed of the Kakhovka reservoir since the dam was destroyed in June 2023. Military experts say the infiltration is aimed at reconnaissance rather than preparing a major offensive. The enormous depopulated "no man's land" offers Russian forces a vantage point for observing Ukrainian positions.
