Polish minister calls for higher taxes on banks, citing their strong profits

Poland's Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, said at a Sejm press conference that banks should be taxed more heavily, as they continue to post strong profits while their effective tax burden is falling. The additional revenue from the banking sector could amount to several billion zlotys.
