Poland's Education Ministry talks teacher pay rises; unions demand 15 percent

Polish teachers' unions are demanding a 15 percent pay rise and linking salaries to the national average wage, while the draft 2027 budget provides for only a 3 percent increase. The head of the Ministry of National Education says talks are ongoing and describes it as "a commitment of the entire coalition government". She cautioned, however, that decisions must take budgetary constraints into account.
