Russian general accused of war crimes seriously wounded in assassination attempt

Russian general Nikolai Varpakhovich was seriously wounded in an assassination attempt in the Saratov region, according to independent Russian outlet The Insider. Ukrainian authorities had previously charged him in absentia in connection with the attack on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv. The attack on the general has not been officially confirmed.
