Nvidia acquires Hugging Face for $12.93 billion

Nvidia has agreed to acquire Hugging Face, one of the most popular platforms for hosting open-source AI models, datasets and developer tools, for $12.93 billion. Founded in 2016, Hugging Face provides a collaborative space for AI developers worldwide. The deal gives the world's biggest AI chipmaker direct ownership of a central hub of the open-source AI ecosystem.
