Yen Jumps 1.7% Against Dollar on Bank of Japan Rate Hike Speculation

The Japanese yen surged more than 1.7% against the dollar on Thursday, reaching its highest level in a month at 155.85 per dollar. The move came amid speculation that the Bank of Japan is preparing to raise interest rates. The yen had already gained 0.9% the previous day, while global markets remain jittery.
