Toxic wildfire haze blankets South East Asia: over 12,000 children have respiratory issues

Millions of people across South East Asia have been exposed to toxic haze from wildfires intensified by a powerful El Niño event. More than 12,000 children are suffering from respiratory problems as a result. The crisis is being worsened by climate change and the burning of forests for agriculture.
