Cyberattack on Baylor Genetics exposes data of 2.8 million patients and staff

US clinical diagnostic laboratory Baylor Genetics confirmed a cyberattack detected on or around June 15, in which sensitive data on 2.8 million patients and employees was stolen. Stolen information includes medical and laboratory test results, health insurance details, and in some cases Social Security numbers and financial data. The company says operations continued uninterrupted and no misuse of the data has been detected so far.
