WMO warns 2026 El Niño will be exceptionally strong, lasting until at least February
The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is warning that the El Niño climate phenomenon will persist until at least February and is being "supersized," with dire consequences for weather worldwide. The overheating Pacific is expected to bring extreme rainfall, droughts and further spikes in global temperatures.
