US Congress defends drone unit of 173rd Airborne Brigade stationed in Europe

A bipartisan group of US lawmakers has demanded an explanation for the decision to end the drone specialisation of a battalion within the 173rd Airborne Brigade based in Europe. The roughly 600-strong unit was implementing lessons from the war in Ukraine and was building its own unmanned aircraft. Congress members fear the move could weaken NATO's defensive capabilities on the continent.
