Polish Academy of Sciences history institute near insolvency — no funds for salaries

The Institute for the History of Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) is on the verge of insolvency, with funds for staff salaries nearly exhausted. Several other PAN institutes are also in the red. The Ministry of Science has declared it will help the units in the most dire financial situation.
