16,500-year-old cave figurines in Turkey resemble a nearby mountain
Archaeologists excavating the Gedikkaya Hill and İn Cave site in Turkey's Bilecik province unearthed around 25 stone figurines that may be up to 16,500 years old, dating to the close of the last Ice Age. The objects bear a striking resemblance in shape to a nearby mountain, suggesting a possible connection to ritual or religious beliefs of the communities that made them.
