Australia approves coal mine extension: Saraji to dig until 2055
Australia's new national environmental protection agency has approved an extension for the Saraji open-cut coal mine in Queensland, allowing it to operate until 2055 while clearing koala habitat and threatened woodland. The mine exports coal for steel-making.
