Hackers hijacked ~5,000 Dropbox accounts by exploiting a Lenovo email verification flaw

Around 5,000 Dropbox accounts were hijacked after hackers exploited a flaw in Lenovo's email verification process. Attackers registered Lenovo IDs using victims' email addresses, bypassing Dropbox's login protections since the service allowed authentication via Lenovo ID. Dropbox has since ended the Lenovo ID login integration, expired all affected sessions and urged users to change passwords and enable two-factor authentication.
