Chinese import surge boosts EU support for Industrial Accelerator Act

A surge in Chinese imports threatening European businesses has prompted industries to rally behind the European Commission's Industrial Accelerator Act, according to testimony at a European Parliament hearing on Wednesday. Experts warned that a second Chinese export shock could be more damaging than the first after China joined the WTO in 2001, as it now targets strategic sectors including electric vehicles, batteries, steel, chemicals and wind turbines. Industry officials urged EU lawmakers to act quickly.
