Chevron to double Venezuela oil output after securing extra acreage

Chevron, the only major US oil company with a significant presence in Venezuela, announced it has secured extra acreage and plans to double its oil output in the country. The expansion marks a further deepening of Chevron's operations in Venezuela despite ongoing US sanctions against Caracas. Chevron operates there under a special US government licence.
