Uber cuts around 3,000 jobs and orders remote workers back to the office

Uber has announced the layoff of around 3,000 employees as part of an efficiency drive. The company is also requiring nearly all remote workers to return to the office. The cuts represent one of the larger rounds of tech-sector redundancies in recent months.
