IMF agrees $2.2 billion loan with Senegal after hidden debt scandal
The International Monetary Fund has agreed a new $2.2 billion loan programme with Senegal to support financial reforms. The deal follows a crisis triggered by the discovery of a large amount of previously unreported debt hidden by the previous government. Senegal's president has accused his predecessor of concealing the true state of the country's budget deficit.
