US faces fuel shortage risk — and the only fix may be a recession
The approaching harvest, heating and holiday seasons, combined with a powerful hurricane that could force US refineries to shut down, are making fuel shortages increasingly likely. Diesel and gasoline prices are already at record highs, and the Trump administration has few tools left to bring them down.
