Record fines: 110 Polish firms penalised over 55 million PLN for illegal trade with Russia

Since the start of 2026, Polish tax authorities have fined 110 companies a combined total of over 55 million PLN for illegal trade with Russia in breach of sanctions, according to Rzeczpospolita. The penalties are described as record-breaking. The cases involve firms circumventing EU sanctions imposed in response to the war in Ukraine.
