Six million deported to Afghanistan: "I've never even been there"

By August, the total number of Afghans forcibly returned to Afghanistan from Pakistan and Iran had reached six million, including one million deported this year alone. Many were born abroad or had lived their entire lives outside Afghanistan and are encountering the Taliban-ruled country for the first time. They are being forced to rebuild their lives in a country they have never known.
