Premier League clubs spent a record £3.2bn in summer transfer window

English Premier League clubs dominated the summer transfer window, spending a record £3.198 billion in total, with three individual deals exceeding £115 million each. Real Madrid also set their own club spending record, while Barcelona signed two players who could reshape the balance of power in La Liga. It was the richest summer window in European football history.
