European textile groups push €10 import fee on fashion to curb Shein

A federation of European textile associations called on Tuesday for a €10 import fee on fashion shipments, aimed mainly at ultra-cheap Chinese competitors like Shein. Professor Sheng Lu of the University of Delaware cautioned that it is unclear whether such measures would force Shein to change its business model, and noted that fast-fashion retailers also face growing consumer fatigue.
