European textile industry calls for €10 handling fee on parcels from Asia

Major European textile industry federations called on Tuesday, at a forum in Villepinte near Paris, for a €10 handling fee on all parcels arriving from outside the European Union. The proposal targets the billions of cheap packages shipped from Asia to the EU market each year. The industry argues the measure would level the playing field against Asian e-commerce platforms.
