Smoke from Indonesia's wildfires travels over 1,000 km to reach Manila

Indonesia is battling widespread wildfires exacerbated by the El Niño weather phenomenon. Smoke has travelled more than 1,000 kilometres to reach Manila, the capital of the Philippines, severely worsening air quality there. Residents of Manila have reported difficulty breathing due to the heavy smoke.
