Germany to spend up to €5M on memorial for Polish WWII victims in central Berlin

A memorial to Polish victims of World War II will be built in central Berlin at the site where Adolf Hitler announced the invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939. The project could cost up to €5 million. A winning architectural design from an ongoing competition is expected to be announced soon.
