NASA restores Swift observatory operations before its atmospheric reentry late this year
NASA has resumed scientific observations aboard the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory despite being unable to raise the satellite to a higher orbit. The agency aims to make full use of the mission's final phase before the spacecraft re-enters the atmosphere, expected at the end of 2026. Swift has been conducting astronomical observations for over two decades.
