Leuven mayor bans Europa League match against Israeli club Hapoel Be'er Sheva

Leuven Mayor Mohamed Ridouani has banned a UEFA Europa League match between Union Saint-Gilloise and Hapoel Be'er Sheva from being played in the city, citing an inability to guarantee public safety amid potential Gaza-related protests. He also ruled out hosting the game behind closed doors. Ridouani stressed the decision was not driven by opposition to Israel or antisemitism.
