Eleven EU states push to scrap veto right in foreign policy decisions

Eleven EU member states, including Germany and France, have written to EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas urging an end to the unanimity rule for some foreign policy decisions, proposing qualified majority voting instead. The move is intended to make EU foreign policy faster and less vulnerable to single-state vetoes. Currently any of the 27 member states can block collective EU action with a veto.
