Italy gets green light for Strait of Messina bridge — to be world's longest

Italy has received approval to build a suspension bridge across the Strait of Messina, linking Sicily to Calabria. When completed, it will become the longest suspension bridge in the world. The project will cost approximately €13.43 billion, with completion expected between 2032 and 2033.
