US Navy wants carrier drone costing under $30M, carrying 5 tons of weapons

The US Navy published a Request for Information outlining specs for its future carrier-based Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA). The drone must carry up to 5 tons of weapons — including four external munitions of up to 2,500 lbs each — and cost no more than $30 million per unit. Prospective contractors have until September 18 to respond; the Navy is seeking two prototypes.
