Sweden burns growing amounts of imported waste — including from Poland

Swedish combined heat and power plants are generating energy by burning increasing volumes of waste imported from countries including the UK, Italy and Poland, according to the newspaper Dagens Nyheter. Between 2010 and, Sweden's waste imports grew by 189%, from 1.34 million tonnes to 3.86 million tonnes per year.
