Sydney records warmest winter ever, Melbourne equals hottest temperatures on record

Australia has just experienced a record-breaking winter — Sydney logged its warmest winter temperatures ever, while Melbourne equalled its previous record. Three eastern states — New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania — all broke their respective all-time winter temperature records. Australia's Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) forecasts that above-average temperatures will continue across much of the country into spring and beyond.
