Ridley Scott dropped Mescal from "Dog Stars", calling him not masculine enough

Paul Mescal was originally cast in Ridley Scott's "Dog Stars" after their collaboration on "Gladiator II". Just before filming began, he was replaced — according to Puck News journalist Matt Belloni, Scott felt Mescal was not masculine enough for the part. Jacob Elordi ultimately took the lead role.
