European gas prices top €70/MWh — highest since 2023
European natural gas prices have surged sharply during the pre-winter storage-filling season. Benchmark TTF contracts in the Netherlands broke through €70 per MWh, up from around €40 per MWh in July. This is the highest level since 2023.
