Russia's Shahed drones are evolving into a far harder challenge for Ukraine
Russia's Shahed (Geran) strike drones were long synonymous with simplicity and mass production, allowing Ukraine to shoot them down in large numbers. Russia has responded by upgrading the design: newer variants are significantly harder to detect and intercept, posing a growing threat to Ukrainian air defences. The evolution also has implications for Poland's own armament programmes.
