November geomagnetic storm disrupted US GPS signals — positioning errors up to 10 metres

A study published in Geophysical Research Letters reveals that a geomagnetic storm from last November severely disrupted satellite navigation across the entire United States. In some locations, positioning errors reached as much as 10 metres. The disruption affected the country from coast to coast, according to the new analysis.
