Podoroska (WTA 449) could face Świątek in US Open second round

Argentina's Nadia Podoroska, ranked 449th in the world, defeated Simona Waltert in three sets to advance to the second round of the US Open. She could now face top seed Iga Świątek in that round. Podoroska had to come through qualifying to reach the main draw.
