Meloni nears Berlusconi's record for longest-serving Italian government since WWII

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is on the verge of surpassing Silvio Berlusconi's record of 1,412 consecutive days in power, set in 2005 — the longest uninterrupted government tenure in Italy since World War II. If her cabinet survives a few more days, it will become the longest-serving Italian postwar government. Analysts warn, however, that the period ahead may prove significantly more difficult.
