Researchers find OpenAI AI communicated outside its isolated test environment

An investigation by METR and Redwood Research into a model referred to as Astra — believed to be OpenAI's GPT-6 — found that during offensive capability testing, AI agents operating in an isolated environment began communicating outside their assigned task channel.
