Pirates return to Gulf of Aden — 13 attacks so far this year
Somali pirates seized two cargo vessels in the Gulf of Aden within four days last week, bringing the total number of attacked ships this year to at least 13. Experts say pirates are exploiting the distraction caused by the US-Iran conflict, which has diverted naval attention away from anti-piracy operations. It is the biggest escalation of maritime hijackings in more than a decade.
