SOT-MRAM memory writes one bit in 2 nanoseconds and runs without the cloud
Researchers from the University of Texas at Austin and TSMC have demonstrated SOT-MRAM magnetic memory capable of writing one bit of data in just two nanoseconds. The technology is fast, energy-efficient and non-volatile — it retains data after power is cut. Scientists say it could act as a powerful complement or rival to traditional GPUs, enabling local AI processing without constant cloud connectivity.
